Man Arrested After Spate of House Fires in Ashby

Leicestershire Police have charged a 50-year-old man following a terrifying morning of arson in Ashby on Friday, 21 November.

Arson and Dangerous Driving Charges

The suspect faces dangerous driving and three counts of arson with intent to endanger life. The fires broke out at three linked locations: Holywell Avenue, Prestop Drive, and Clifton Drive.

Three Hospitalised – Injuries Not Life-Threatening

Two teenagers and a woman were rushed to hospital. One teen suffered burns and smoke inhalation, while the others were treated for smoke inhalation. Thankfully, none of the injuries are life-threatening or life-changing.

Remanded in Custody, Court Date Set

The man remains in custody and will appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 November.
