Man Charged After Firing Air Weapon at Police Car in Maidstone
A man has been arrested and charged after allegedly firing an air weapon at a police car in Maidstone early Tuesday morning.
Armed Incident on Knightrider Street
At around 7am on 24 September 2024, officers responded to reports of a man waving what looked like a handgun on Knightrider Street. When the first police patrol arrived, the suspect reportedly fired a projectile at their vehicle.
Suspect Caught at the Scene
Alexander Sangster, 41, who has no fixed address, was arrested at the scene. Officers also seized an air weapon nearby. Sangster has been charged with possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.
Next Steps
Sangster has been bailed and is set to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 10 October.
