Man Charged Over Teen Yusuf Mohamoud’s Fatal Stabbing in Barnet
Detectives have made a breakthrough in the case of 18-year-old Yusuf Mohamoud, who was tragically stabbed to death in Barnet. Tyrese Jennings, 20, from Litchfield Grove, N3, has been charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
Charged Suspect to Appear in Court
Jennings was arrested on Monday, 14 August, and is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday, 15 August. This follows the earlier charging of two 15-year-old boys connected to the stabbing. Their identities remain protected due to their age. They appeared at Willesden Youth Court last weekend and are due at the Central Criminal Court today.
Details of the Tragic Stabbing on Regent’s Park Road
The horrifying attack happened around 9.40pm on Monday, 7 August, in Regent’s Park Road, N3. Police and London Ambulance crews rushed to the scene where Yusuf, from Enfield, was found with serious stab wounds. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem exam confirmed that Yusuf’s cause of death was a stab wound. The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command is supporting Yusuf’s devastated family as the investigation continues.
Police Appeal for Witnesses to Come Forward
Detectives are urging anyone who was near Regent’s Park Road between 9pm and 10pm on 7 August, or who has any information about the attack, to get in touch. Witnesses can call 101 quoting CAD 7779/07Aug, report online, or tweet @MetCC.
