Man Found Guilty of 2017 West Kensington Killing
A man has been convicted for the stabbing death of a neighbour in West Kensington back in October 2017.
Enrique Facelli Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter
Enrique Facelli, 49, of Warwick Road, W14, admitted manslaughter on grounds of diminished responsibility. He was handed a Hospital Order under the Mental Health Act alongside a Restriction Order, ensuring he remains under strict supervision.
Victim Found Stabbed in Flat
Julian Aubrey was found with multiple stab wounds inside his flat on West Cromwell Road at around 1:45pm on 30 October 2017. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene. A post-mortem confirmed he died from multiple stab injuries.
Longtime Residents Turned Tragic Enemies
The court heard Facelli and Aubrey had lived in the same block for almost two decades. Once friends, their relationship soured over the years.
On the day of the attack, Facelli claimed to have seen Julian’s body but said he did not enter the flat. Instead, he alerted workmen working downstairs, who then discovered the victim and called emergency services.
Forensics Expose Facelli’s Lies
Despite Facelli’s initial denial, forensic tests told a different story. Officers seized his watch at the scene, which showed traces of Aubrey’s blood—proving Facelli had been inside the flat.
Facelli was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. After further investigation and forensic results, he was re-arrested in February 2018 and charged with murder. He later pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
“Despite Facelli originally claiming no involvement, forensic evidence proved he was lying and tried to cover his tracks,” said Detective Inspector Jon Meager, lead investigator. “I hope today’s sentencing brings some comfort to Mr Aubrey’s family.”
Julian’s sister Louise Turner said: “Julian’s death has turned my life upside down. The sadness I feel is immeasurable — I will be eternally sad and cry for him every day.”
Four other men arrested during the probe were released without charge.
