Man Found Guilty of Murdering Elderly Partner in Kilburn
Steven Clark Convicted at Southwark Crown Court
A 50-year-old man from Kilburn has been found guilty of murdering his 80-year-old partner in a shocking case that rocked Queens Park. Steven Clark, who lived on Bravington Road, was convicted of killing Ursula Uhlemann last March after a detailed investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
Chilling Details Emerge in Court
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, lead investigator on the case, described the killing as carried out under “appalling circumstances.” He said:
“Ms Uhlemann’s life was taken in horrific circumstances. Clark repeatedly lied about his involvement, denying any role. We thank the witnesses whose statements helped piece together what happened.”
The court heard that on the early hours of 20 March 2024, London Ambulance Service responded to a 999 call from Clark. Paramedics arrived to find Ursula unconscious on her living room floor.
- Despite frantic resuscitation efforts, she was pronounced dead at 4:11 AM.
- Police noted multiple injuries, raising serious suspicions about foul play.
Clark’s Lies Unravelled by CCTV
Clark told police he had been staying at Ursula’s flat but claimed he left and returned several times over two days before the murder. However, CCTV footage exposed the truth — he never left the flat in the crucial 48 hours, directly contradicting his story.
Further investigation uncovered a history of abuse, confirming Clark had been violent towards Ursula before.
A postmortem revealed the cause of death as neck compression.
