Shocking CCTV Reveals Savage Assault
Detective Sergeant Joanne Donoghue of the Met’s Specialist Crime North Homicide Team described the violent attack as “wicked and ferocious,” footage that stunned even veteran detectives. The hard-hitting CCTV evidence was key in securing Gordon’s conviction at the Old Bailey on Monday, 11 March.
Alongside murder, Gordon was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm to another victim and possession of a firearm.
Justice After Long Investigation and Family’s Endurance
Despite paramedics’ desperate attempts, Russell was pronounced dead at the scene. A painstaking investigation followed, combing through hours of CCTV and mobile phone data to piece together the events.
“The enduring patience and dignity shown by Russell’s family throughout these years of court proceedings has been nothing short of remarkable,” said DS Donoghue. “We hope this conviction gives them some comfort, knowing justice has been served.”
