Brutal Rapist Handed 14 Years for Southwark Assaults

Ahmedshah Naizi, 20, with no fixed address, was locked up for 14 years after a sickening spree of rape and violence against a woman he knew. The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime team cracked the case, securing convictions for four counts of rape, plus charges of suffocation, bodily harm, assault, and coercive control.

Victim’s Courage Pays Off Despite Fear

The victim was so terrified she initially struggled to give evidence. But she reported Naizi’s crimes, triggering a thorough police probe. Detectives pulled together medical records, digital proof, and even secret videos the victim filmed of the abuse. These were key to nailing the predator in court.

“We hope she finds some comfort now her attacker is behind bars,” Detective Constable Michelle Elisio said. “This conviction sends a clear message to anyone trapped in abuse: you are not alone. Please reach out for help.”

Horrific Control and Violence Uncovered

During their relationship, Naizi controlled her every move – from finances to friendships. He violently punished her for trying to leave, twisting arms and legs, slapping, punching, and even strangling her. Shockingly, he refused her medical care after a miscarriage.

The victim’s secret videos and phone footage filmed by Naizi himself sealed his fate. Despite the victim initially withdrawing her claim, police and independent advisors pressed on to ensure justice.

Met Police Pledge Support for Abuse Survivors

PC Alice Pyne praised the victim’s bravery and the investigative team’s tireless work to protect her and hold Naizi accountable. The Metropolitan Police urged all sexual assault victims in London to come forward, promising specialist officers ready to listen and act.
