Liverpool Man Jailed for Terror Plot After Dark Web Firearm Cache Found
Jacob Graham, 20, from Norris Green, Liverpool, has been found guilty of multiple terrorism offences at Manchester Crown Court. The conviction on February 22, 2024, follows a thorough probe by Merseyside Police and Counter Terrorism Policing North West.
Bomb-Making Plans and Extremist Manuals Uncovered
Police swooped on Graham’s Merseyside home last May after suspicious chemical purchases linked to bomb-making. Officers seized media devices packed with extremist material, including bomb and firearm manuals. Disturbingly, Graham authored a document called ‘Freedom Encyclopaedia’ with step-by-step weapon-building guides and tips to dodge the cops.
Sharing Terror Tactics Online
Prosecutors revealed Graham shared bomb-making instructions and even a homemade submachine gun with online contacts. His twisted motives mixed anti-government rage with eco-warrior zeal. Though cleared of personally preparing terrorist acts, the court heard his detailed bombing campaign to cause mass casualties.
Police Warn Public to Stay Alert
Superintendent Andy Meeks of Counter Terrorism Policing North West said the case is a “stark warning” about online extremism dangers. He praised police vigilance and urged the public to report suspicious behaviour.
Graham remains in custody ahead of sentencing on March 18. His conviction underlines the harsh penalties on those dabbling in terror, especially in the digital age where radicalisation thrives online.
