Detective Chief Inspector Calls for Privacy and Patience
Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, leading the case, said:
“This is an incredibly tragic incident that has seen a young boy lose his life, leaving his family devastated. On their behalf, I ask for their privacy to be respected.”
“The investigation is complex — involving multiple crime scenes, forensic evidence, hours of CCTV, and numerous witnesses. We understand the public wants answers, and we are working hard to provide them.”
“I also urge patience as officers conduct a painstaking probe to deliver justice for Daniel, his family, the injured, and the wider community.”
“We are beginning to piece together what happened on Tuesday. Thanks to everyone who has shared dash-cam, doorbell, and mobile footage, and to witnesses who were no doubt shaken but have contributed vital information.”
“If anyone with information has not yet spoken to police, they should contact us as soon as possible.”
