London’s streets erupted in violence last week, leaving multiple victims injured and a teen fighting for his life. Knife attacks and shootings have sent shockwaves through the capital, sparking fresh fear across the city.
Wembley Shooting: Teen in Critical Condition
At 5.27am on Sunday, September 21, police rushed to Atlantic Crescent in Wembley after a shooting was reported. An 18-year-old boy was found unconscious outside the Crystal Club near South Way and First Way. Four days on, he remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Two men have been charged in connection with the shooting. Rafael Reveane Rodriguez, 39, from Morden, faces attempted murder charges following his arrest on September 24. Dennis Gambrah, 32, from Lewisham, was also charged after being arrested on September 23. Six others remain in custody as the investigation continues.
Leicester Square Knife Attack: Four Injured
Just after 1am on Sunday, September 21, chaos erupted in Leicester Square when four men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were slashed in a brutal knife attack. Despite the severity, thankfully none suffered life-threatening wounds.
A 50-year-old man has been arrested and now faces serious charges including grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, affray, and possession of Class B drugs.
Knife Scares Rock Edgware and Paddington
- Monday, September 22: Police and paramedics responded to reports of a man armed with a knife at McDonald’s on Stonegrove, Edgware. A teenage boy suffered a minor knee cut and was treated on the spot.
- Tuesday, September 23: A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the arm near Paddington Green around midday. He was hospitalised but later discharged with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 17-year-old from Westminster has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon, and possession of a Class B drug. He appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on September 25 and was remanded in custody.
Brixton Brawl: Two Teens Injured in Knife Fight
On Tuesday, September 23, just after 5pm, police were called to Acre Lane, Brixton, following a knife fight involving two 16-year-olds. One suffered a stab wound but was confirmed stable, while the other sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
