A man has been locked up after using his car as a deadly weapon to run down two people in Salisbury earlier this year.

Car attack sends two to hospital

Braden Lynam, 22, from Woodborough Close, Trowbridge, landed a heavy sentence at Winchester Crown Court on Friday (29 August). He was handed four years and eight months behind bars and banned from driving for five years.

Brutal rampage during street fight

On 27 March 2025, Lynam got into a bloody scuffle with a man in his 40s in Salisbury. When a woman in her 20s stepped in to break it up, Lynam launched a terrifying attack. He jumped into his blue Ford Focus and sped directly at the pair.

  • The man suffered life-changing leg injuries.
  • The woman sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

After the hit-and-run, Lynam bolted, ditching his car on Churchfields Road. He stayed on the run for days before cops caught him on 31 March.

Grim police warning after sentencing

DC Louise Butler from Wiltshire Police blasted Lynam’s “horrendous” actions. She said:

“Lynam’s actions were horrendous and have resulted in one of the victims suffering life-changing leg injuries. Even so, it is fortunate that it is not a lot worse. He could easily have taken two lives.

Lynam then failed to stop at the scene, leaving his two victims by the side of the road with serious injuries. There is no place for this sort of violence in our county and I’m pleased he has now been jailed.”
