A packed commuter train turned deadly after a furious spat over space in the aisle. Darren Pencille stands accused of stabbing fellow passenger Lee Pomeroy 18 times on the Guildford-bound train. The horror unfolded just a day before Mr Pomeroy’s birthday, witnessed by his son.
Shouting Match Sparks Savage Attack
According to court reports, the pair clashed after blocking the narrow carriage aisle during a day trip from London. The argument quickly escalated into a violent stabbing spree. Some of the horrific assault was caught on mobile phones by shocked passengers.
Accomplice Allegedly Helps Getaway
Pencille’s girlfriend, 27-year-old Mitchell, is also in the dock, charged with assisting an offender. Prosecutors say she drove Pencille from Clandon station in Surrey right after the attack. She is further accused of buying hair clippers and razors to help him change his appearance and evade police. The trial is ongoing.
