Gloucestershire Man Jailed for Paying to Watch Live Child Abuse in Philippines
Paul Renwick Caught in International Sting
Paul Renwick, 60, from Stroud, has been locked up after a National Crime Agency (NCA) investigation exposed his sickening crime. The retired man sent money from the UK to the Philippines in exchange for live streams of children being sexually abused.
Payments and Disturbing Confessions
- Between December 2017 and September 2018, Renwick made over nine payments to money service bureaus linked to live abuse.
- Evidence suggests he had been paying for access to these live feeds since 2005, sending at least £7,000 abroad.
- During interrogation, Renwick admitted to sending money for “live sex shows” but claimed he believed all performers were adults. He also shockingly confessed a sexual interest in girls aged 12 to 14.
Horrific Abuse and Digital Evidence
Forensic experts found horrifying child abuse material on Renwick’s devices, including:
- 45 Category A images (most severe)
- 70 Category B images
- 172 Category C images
- 22 prohibited and 22 extreme images
He pleaded guilty at Northampton Crown Court to multiple charges: paying for sexual services of a child, making indecent photos of children, and possessing extreme and prohibited images.
Judge Slams Renwick with Six-Year Prison Sentence
The court sentenced Renwick to six years behind bars with an additional 12 months on extended licence. He was also handed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Danny Waywell, NCA Senior Investigator, said: “Our investigation uncovered Renwick as a prolific offender, directing and paying for child sexual abuse since 2005. He thought distance would hide him, but international partnerships brought him to justice. The NCA will keep hunting down those involved in child abuse.”
