Man Dies After Brutal Assault Outside Maidstone Pub

Tragic Night at Hare and Hounds

Police and ambulance crews rushed to the Hare and Hounds pub on Lower Boxley Road in Maidstone shortly after 8.35pm on Saturday, August 20, following reports of an assault.

Andrew Loosley, 47, was seriously hurt and taken to a London hospital, where he sadly later died on Wednesday, August 24.

Suspect Arrested and Charged

Just two days after the attack, police detained a suspect. On Wednesday morning, 18-year-old John Gibbs from Nickley Wood, Ashford, was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Gibbs appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court and was remanded ahead of a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court set for September 21.
