Milton Keynes Robber Caught and Jailed After Attacking 66-Year-Old
Drunken Assault Turns Violent
A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to over two years behind bars for a brutal robbery in Milton Keynes. Robert Rowe, homeless and desperate, pleaded guilty to robbing a 66-year-old man after a seemingly friendly drink at Willen Park.
Betrayal After a Drink
On the evening of April 27, Rowe struck up a friendship with the elderly victim, who bought him a drink. But Rowe’s true intentions quickly surfaced. He secretly noted the victim’s card PIN during the purchase.
Violent Theft and Quick Arrest
Later that night, Rowe viciously assaulted the victim, stealing his bank card and withdrawing hundreds of pounds. The victim suffered facial injuries from the attack. Rowe was arrested just days later on May 2 and charged the following day.
Justice Served
Detective Constable Matt Bly of Milton Keynes CID said: “Rowe claimed he acted on the spur of the moment, exploiting the victim’s kindness before beating him and stealing his wallet. There’s no excuse for this behaviour.”
“I’m pleased Rowe entered an early guilty plea, clearly aware of the strong evidence against him. He will now serve his sentence and reflect on his crime.”
