Predator Nabbed: Handsworth Man Jailed for Terrifying Machete Rape
A 33-year-old man from Handsworth has been locked up for 15 years after luring a woman under false pretences and brutally assaulting her with a machete. Naveed Hussain convinced his victim to visit a property to discuss renting a room, only to trap and terrorise her.
Trap Set With Fake Room Rental
Once inside the Handsworth home, Hussain slammed the door shut and brandished a machete, launching a terrifying sexual attack. “He locked me in and threatened me with a knife,” the victim told the court, detailing the horrifying ordeal.
Heroic Escape and Fast Arrest
Despite the trauma, the victim fled and flagged down a passer-by, who urgently called for medical help. Police swiftly arrested Hussain at the scene, seizing a knife on his person and the deadly machete from the property.
Justice Served: Life on Sex Offender Register
Thanks to the victim’s brave testimony, Hussain was convicted of rape and weapon possession. Birmingham Crown Court sentenced him on October 10 to 15 years behind bars and placed him on the sex offender register for life.
