Mother-of-Two Shot Dead Outside Pub on Valentine’s Day
Shocking CCTV footage captures the deadly moment three gunshots rang out, killing a mother-of-two outside a pub on Valentine’s Day.
Lisa Smith, 43, was fatally shot outside The Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt, Kent, on Friday, 14 February. Her tragic death sent shockwaves through the quiet village.
Gunshots and Chaos Caught on Camera
The CCTV footage reveals the chilling sequence: three loud gunshots ring out, followed by terrified screams from pubgoers enjoying Valentine’s dinners.
A woman is heard yelling, “He’s killed her.” Then a fourth shot fires and a vehicle speeds away from the car park moments later.
Murder-Suicide Suspected After Man Flees
Kent Police say the suspect, known to Lisa, fled the scene before ditching his car and a firearm near Dartford Crossing, around 17 miles away.
Witnesses reported a man standing on the wrong side of the bridge barrier. Investigators fear he jumped into the River Thames in a suspected murder-suicide.
Grief and Tributes Flood the Village
Heartbroken family and friends left red balloons, flowers, and candles outside the pub in memory of Lisa.
From Slough, Berkshire, Lisa was described as a devoted mother of two. Villagers expressed shock and heartbreak over the senseless tragedy.
Reverend Tim Edwards, vicar of St Katharine’s Church, said: “It’s shocking. This just doesn’t happen here.”
Local shop worker Thivi Selva recalled hearing gunshots and people crying before police arrived and blocked the road.
Pub Landlady Describes Horror Scene
Michelle Thomas, landlady of The Three Horseshoes, revealed the horror unfolded while 30 diners were seated and 20 more in the bar.
“There was so much commotion – screaming, shouting, crying. People were outside on their phones. We tried to get people inside the pub,” she said.
An off-duty firearms officer was on site and helped bring the situation under control. Lisa was known to the pub but was not a regular.
Forensics Work Around the Clock
Forensic teams have been working day and night at the crime scene. Kent Police continue to search the River Thames for the suspect’s body.
Detective Chief Inspector David Higham confirmed: “Call handlers received reports of a man on the wrong side of the barrier at the Dartford Crossing. We are not ruling out the possibility that he may have entered the water.”
“We are currently only looking for one suspect and do not believe there to be an ongoing risk to the public.”
