Murder Investigation Underway After Man Dies in Barking
Detectives from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command have launched a murder probe following the death of a man in Barking, east London.
59-Year-Old Victim Found Seriously Injured
Just after midnight on Monday, March 26, police rushed to an east London hospital where a 59-year-old man was admitted with serious injuries from an assault. Officers then went to the victim’s home on Stern Close, Barking, now treated as a crime scene.
Those at the address said the victim went to bed the night before but was found shaking in bed, bleeding from the nose the following morning. The London Ambulance Service attended and took him to hospital, but he sadly died at 4:37pm on Tuesday, March 27.
Three Arrested on Suspicion of Murder
- A 48-year-old man
- A 51-year-old woman
- A 34-year-old woman
have all been arrested in connection with the murder. The 51-year-old woman remains in custody at a North London police station. Two others interviewed by detectives have been released under investigation.
Additional Arrest Made in Separate Case
A fourth man was also arrested and sent to prison for failing to appear at court, unrelated to this case.
Police Seek Public’s Help
A post-mortem is scheduled for Thursday, March 29, with formal identification pending. Police are working to inform the victim’s next of kin.
