Two Teens Arrested After Phone Snatch from Elderly Man in Ashford

Kent Police are hunting witnesses following a brazen robbery that saw a man in his 70s shoved and robbed on Ashford’s High Street.

The victim was walking near the junction with North Street just after 4.20pm on Sunday, July 3, when he was pushed from behind. His phone was snatched in the attack, but luckily, he escaped without injury.

Suspects Bailed Amid Ongoing Investigation

Police quickly sprung into action, arresting two teenagers: a 17-year-old local lad from Ashford and a 16-year-old from Basildon, Essex. Both face charges of robbery and possession of a bladed article. They have since been released on bail as detectives hunt for more clues.
