Man Attacked in Shanklin, Arrests Continue

Police rushed to a scene on Thursday, 29 October, at 11.59am after a man in his 30s was brutally assaulted by a group of men.

The victim suffered multiple injuries, including a serious head wound that, thankfully, isn’t life-threatening.

Latest Arrest and Ongoing Investigation

On 3 November, officers arrested a 30-year-old man with no fixed address on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in custody pending further investigation.

Four Others Bailed in Assault Probe

Prior to the latest arrest, four men were taken into custody as part of the inquiry:

  • A 23-year-old from Shanklin, bailed until 26 November on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
  • Another 23-year-old from Shanklin, bailed until 28 November on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
  • A 24-year-old from Shanklin, bailed until 29 November on the same charges.
  • A 28-year-old from Lake, bailed until 30 November on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Police continue to appeal for information as the investigation unfolds.
