BMW Driver Nabbed with Drugs in Tunbridge Wells Sting
A quick-thinking Tunbridge Wells Community Policing team has landed a drug dealer behind bars. On 26 September 2019, officers spotted a suspicious motorist cruising down St John’s Road in a BMW.
27 Wraps of Cocaine Found on Driver
After pulling over the car, police searched driver Alfred Qinami and uncovered 27 wraps of cocaine hidden inside a cigarette packet in his jacket. They also seized £300 cash and two mobile phones packed with texts arranging drug deals.
23-Year-Old Qinami Gets Three Years for Supply
Qinami, 23, from Broomhill Road, Orpington, was charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply. At Maidstone Crown Court on 1 November, he pleaded guilty and was slapped with a three-year prison sentence.
“This drug dealer is not a local man and came to the attention of my proactive officers as he arrived in the town,” said Chief Inspector Peter Steenhuis. “I am confident the local policing team can spot the suspicious activities of cocaine dealers and arrests will be made at the earliest opportunity.”
“This sends a firm message to anyone dealing Class A drugs: it’s not a case of if you’ll be caught, but when.”
