Person Rescued After Hackney Flat Boiler Fire

A dramatic rescue took place this evening at Almond Court on Woodmill Road, Hackney, after a boiler fire broke out in a residential flat.

Four Fire Engines Rush to Scene

At around 6:20pm, London Fire Brigade scrambled four fire engines to tackle a blaze on the first floor of the flat. Emergency crews also deployed a 32-metre aerial ladder to help fight the fire and ensure residents’ safety.

Swift Action Saves One Person

Firefighters from nearby stations acted quickly to contain the fire. One person trapped inside the flat was successfully rescued and brought to safety. Thankfully, no injuries have yet been confirmed.

Investigation Underway as Residents Evacuated

The fire, believed to have started in a domestic boiler, was under control by late evening. Nearby flats were evacuated briefly as a precaution. London Fire Brigade has issued a strong warning urging residents to service their boilers regularly to prevent future fires.
