Eastbourne Assault: Police Hunt Key Witnesses After Woman Hurt in Alley
Shocking Attack in Eastbourne Alley
Eastbourne police are urgently seeking witnesses after an 18-year-old woman was assaulted in an alley off Lushington Lane late on Sunday, January 15. The victim suffered injuries to her head and nose during the attack.
Suspect Arrested But Released on Bail
A 19-year-old man from Eastbourne was arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH), intentional strangulation, and possession of cannabis, a Class B drug. He has since been released on strict bail conditions until April 16.
Police Appeal for Crucial Witnesses
Crime Investigator Wendy Murray urged anyone who saw the assault to step forward. She said, “We understand a woman nearby helped the victim get on a bus home. Two men also came over after hearing the commotion. We need to speak to these people to aid our investigation.”
