Police  appeal for witnesses following an assault in Oxford

  At around 2.20am on Saturday (20/4) a man in his late teens became involved in an argument with another man on Middle Fisher Row, between Hythe Bridge and Park End Street. The victim, the man in his late teens, has then been assaulted suffering a serious head injury. He was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition. His injuries are not life threatening. It is thought that a larger scuffle took place after the assault. The two groups separated and left the area. It is believed that the offending male was in the company of another man and women who may have witnessed the assault. Investigating officer, Detective Constable Robert Prout, of Force CID based at Oxford, said: “We are appealing for anyone witnesses to this assault to come forward. “This was an assault in Oxford and we believe there may be a number of people who were in the area at the time who might have witness information. “We would ask anyone with information to please come forward.” Anyone with information should call 101 quoting reference 43190118788 or can go to our website or if you wish to report anonymously you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
