Late-night brawl in Oxford leaves teen with serious head injury

Teens clash in early morning fight

At around 2.20am on Saturday, April 20, a man in his late teens got into a heated argument on Middle Fisher Row, between Hythe Bridge and Park End Street. The confrontation quickly turned violent, leaving the victim with a serious head injury.

Victim stable but hospitalised

The injured teenager was rushed to hospital. Thankfully, he is now in stable condition and his injuries are not life-threatening.

Police hunt witnesses after larger scuffle

Reports suggest the assault sparked a bigger fight involving two groups, which later scattered. Officers believe the suspect was accompanied by at least one other man, who may have witnessed the attack.

Detective Constable Robert Prout of Oxford Force CID said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this assault to come forward. We believe there were several people nearby at the time who might have valuable information.”
