Tragic scooter crash claims woman’s life in Sutton-in-Ashfield
Victim falls into road on Alfreton Road
A woman in her sixties riding a scooter on Alfreton Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, fell into the carriageway near Willowbridge Lane just before 11am on Friday.
Succumbs to head injury in hospital
She was rushed to hospital with a serious head injury but sadly died later the same day.
Police launch probe, appeal for witnesses
Detective Constable Adam Rigby of Nottinghamshire Police said: “This was a very sad incident that resulted in a woman’s death. We are working to understand what happened so we can give her family the answers they need.”
He urged anyone with information, especially dashcam footage from the area, to come forward immediately.
Witnesses should call 101 quoting incident 241 of 5 May 2023.
