Terrifying Rape Attack Sparks Police Hunt in Yate

A brutal sex attack has rocked the quiet streets of Yate overnight between Sunday 27 and Monday 28 February. A woman was viciously assaulted and raped while walking home near Folly Bridge Close, behind McColls and the Cranleigh Court Chapel.

Two Masked Men Launch Terrifying Assault

The victim told specially trained officers she was returning from meeting a friend when two men in black clothing and masks pounced. One carried out the rape while the other stood guard.

  • Attacker 1: Aged 20 to 30, skinny, about 5ft 5in tall.
  • Attacker 2: Aged 25 to 35, stocky, around 6ft tall.

Heavy Police Presence and Investigation Underway

Yate Neighbourhood Sergeant Terry Murphy said: “We are doing everything we can to catch these men. You will see an increased police presence in Yate as officers carry out searches and house-to-house enquiries.”

Uniformed patrols will be stepped up to reassure residents and support the investigation. Sgt Murphy urged anyone with information to come forward.

Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

If you were near Folly Bridge Close and Cranleigh Court Road between 10.30pm and midnight on Sunday 27 February, police want to hear from you. Any dashcam, CCTV, or smart doorbell footage could be vital.
