14-Year-Old Targeted in Shocking Attempted Abduction in Hazel Grove

At 5pm on Monday, March 20, a 14-year-old boy was approached by a man driving an orange and black Mini. The vehicle was parked in a layby on Jacksons Lane, Hazel Grove.

The driver asked the boy to get into his car. When the boy refused, the man then drove slowly behind him along Jacksons Lane.

Boy Escapes Unharmed; Suspect in Custody

Thankfully, the boy managed to reach home safely without harm.

Police have arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of attempted abduction. He remains in custody for questioning.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

Greater Manchester Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area before, during, or after the incident. Authorities are especially interested in dashcam or doorbell footage that could shed light on the case.

“I understand this incident may cause concern amongst the community, and I would like to reassure residents that we are working around the clock to investigate it,” said Detective Inspector Chris Aunins of GMP’s Stockport division.

“If you were driving along Jackson’s Lane at 5pm on Monday, March 20, and have any information, please contact GMP on 0161 856 9616 quoting log number 2697 of 20/3/2023.”
