Outrage After Police Manhandle Uni Student in Shocking Arrest

Northamptonshire Police are under fire after a disturbing video surfaced showing officers allegedly using excessive force to arrest a university student, Santino. The incident, which took place on August 8, 2024, has sparked fury across social media, with the public demanding answers over the officers’ conduct.

Video Shows Brutal Takedown

The footage, now viral, appears to show a plain-clothes cop aggressively ramming Santino into a gate before punching him twice while he lies on the ground. Reports say seven more officers arrived shortly after the initial scuffle.

Santino Speaks Out

Santino, who had just returned home from university, told his side on X (formerly Twitter). He said he was walking back after visiting a shop and greeting a local elder when he noticed the officer approaching.

“My first thought was to run as I didn’t know who or what this man was after,” Santino explained. “At that point, I stopped, but as you can see in the video, the police officer charged me against the wall without any explanation.”

He added that he tried explaining himself, only to be mocked by the officers. After his arrest, Santino claims he was taken to a station and subjected to a humiliating strip search—without access to legal counsel despite multiple requests.

“I had to go through a very invasive, demoralising, and embarrassing process for no reason as I didn’t do anything wrong,” he said. Santino also says his legal right to a search receipt was denied.

No Charges Yet, Police Silent

So far, Santino faces no charges. Northamptonshire Police have yet to respond to the damning video or the serious allegations made against their officers.
