Teen Violence Hits Arnold: Three Youths Arrested After String of Attacks
A 13-year-old boy was left with a split lip and a bruised eye after a brutal attack outside a shop on Front Street, Arnold. The youngster was punched and kicked during the assault at around 5.15pm on Tuesday, 21 March.
Multiple Attacks Rock Arnold in One Day
Just over an hour later, at 6.50pm, a 14-year-old was set upon by a group of youths on Redhill Road. That same evening, police were also called to reports of a car damaged on Calverton Road.
The violence didn’t stop there. The previous day, around 7.10pm, a 16-year-old lad was threatened with a knife by a gang in St Mary’s Park before having his bag stolen. Another 13-year-old was injured in this scary incident.
Police Make Four Arrests in Ongoing Investigation
Following CCTV review and inquiries, police swooped on Thursday (23 March), arresting four teens linked to these incidents:
- A 15-year-old boy on suspicion of robbery, grievous bodily harm without intent, affray, possession of a knife in public, and criminal damage.
- A 13-year-old boy suspected of assault causing actual bodily harm, affray, possession of an offensive weapon in public, and criminal damage.
- Another 13-year-old detained on suspicion of affray.
- A 16-year-old girl arrested on suspicion of affray and criminal damage.
Police Urge Caution and Information Sharing
“Violent disorder of this nature will not be tolerated,” said Inspector Mark Stanley, District Commander for Gedling.
“We urge the public not to speculate or share names on social media – innocent posts can disrupt investigations and cause distress.
If you witnessed anything or have any information, please come forward and contact police directly.”
All four suspects have been interviewed and released on conditional bail as investigations continue.
