Tragic Death in Hackney: Jay John Dies After Brutal Assault
Police have named the man who died after a savage attack in Hackney as 27-year-old Jay John, a local resident.
Assault on Trinity Close
Officers were called to Trinity Close, E8, at around 12.25pm on Saturday, 25 April following reports of an assault. Jay was rushed to an east London hospital but tragically passed away the next day.
Investigation Underway
A post-mortem at Poplar Mortuary on Tuesday, 28 April, revealed Jay died from head injuries. His family have been informed and are being supported by police.
Suspect in Custody
A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 27 April. He has now been remanded and is set to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 29 April.
