Essex Police Crack Down on Unauthorised ‘Soul Sure’ Rave Today
Police Warn Revellers: Don’t Attend Illegal Chelmsford Music Event
Essex Police are onto an unauthorised music event planned in Chelmsford today, Saturday 14 November. They have issued a blunt warning to anyone thinking of turning up – stay away.
Roadblocks and Equipment Seizures Loom
Authorities are ready to bulldoze the party, threatening roadblocks and music equipment seizures. Officers have already warned event organisers about the strict rules on large gatherings and the ongoing threat of Covid-19.
Police: Illegal Raves Risk Safety and Spread Covid-19
Detective Chief Inspector Lewis Basford said:
“We are concerned for the safety of anyone planning to attend this unauthorised event and the impact it will have on the wider public should it go ahead. The legislation is in place to stop the spread of the virus and keep people safe. Unauthorised events with large crowds pose a real risk to attendees.”
He added:
“Such events can attract troublemakers who spoil it for everyone else. I’d urge anyone thinking of going to think again.”
Organisers Face Prosecution
Police stressed that anyone caught organising illegal raves or unlicensed music gigs faces prosecution. Their priority is to stop such events quickly before force is needed.
Don’t risk it. Essex Police mean business.
