Fatal Hit-and-Run Shocks Ollerton Community

A woman in her 50s was tragically killed after being run over on Newark Road, Ollerton, at around 10.25pm on December 8. The driver reportedly hit the pedestrian and then fled the scene without stopping.

Paramedics Pronounce Victim Dead at the Scene

Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after the crash, but sadly, the woman was pronounced dead by paramedics on arrival.

Suspect Arrested But Released on Bail

A 33-year-old man from the local area has been arrested and faces charges including causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, and failing to report the incident. He has since been released on bail while police continue their investigation.

Police Appeal for Information

Sergeant Steve Waft from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “The investigation is moving at pace, and we have now arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the incident. This has been incredibly distressing for the victim’s family and our thoughts continue to be with them at this difficult time.”
