Police Respond to Disturbance with Negotiator
Kent Police arrived at the scene at 12:40pm after complaints about a disturbance. They brought in a trained negotiator to try and communicate with a man inside the property. The road was cordoned off, and residents were forced to stay indoors while officers took control.
Two Seriously Injured, Investigation Underway
A man and woman were rushed to a London hospital with serious injuries, according to Kent Police. The house remains sealed off, with forensic teams combing through the scene into the evening.
Witnesses Describe “Chilling” Hostage Situation
Neighbours claimed the woman was held hostage inside the property by the man. One witness, who wished to remain anonymous, described the scene as “chilling.”
“I was in the house, and my husband and two daughters were out – they couldn’t get back home,” she said. “I walked outside and was told to stay inside. I went to the garden to see what was happening.”
Police continue their investigation into what triggered the dramatic siege and gunfire.
