Lexi Secker Jailed for Rape in Swindon
Lexi Secker, 35, from Melksham, has been locked up for 6½ years for the 2021 rape of a woman in Swindon. The sentencing came down today, September 27, following Secker’s conviction earlier this year.
At the time of the crime, Secker was known as Alexander Secker. The offence took place on April 23, 2021, after a night out in Blunsdon. Secker was found guilty at trial in June.
Detective Praises Brave Victim
Detective Constable Corrina Wiltshire commended the victim’s “inspirational” resilience throughout the long case. She said, “I would firstly like to thank our victim, who has been inspirational in the way they have handled things. I hope this sentence gives other victims the strength to come forward and help police seek justice.”
DC Wiltshire stressed the importance of reporting sexual crimes, even if victims aren’t ready to talk. “This case has taken a long time, but the victim has trusted the police and stayed with it despite hurdles. They have incredible strength, and I hope others see they can do this too,” Wiltshire added.
Wiltshire Police Urge Victims to Speak Up
Wiltshire Police continue to call on victims of rape and sexual assault to come forward. Officers say they’d rather hear from victims unsure about reporting an incident, so they can ensure their safety and provide support.
