Essex Police’s Operation Raptor swooped on drug dealers linked to the tragedies, arresting three suspects. Bryan Tegunde appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on May 16, charged with supplying heroin and crack cocaine. His co-accused, 20-year-old Sabrino Hajderaj from Croydon, faces charges including carrying a blade in public and intent to supply Class A drugs. He remains in custody ahead of a crown court hearing on June 12.

A 21-year-old London man arrested in connection has been released on bail as inquiries continue.

Police Promise Safety Crackdown After Tragedy

Inspector Mark Jones from Operation Raptor said: “Class A drugs carry deadly risks. We’re determined to stamp out supply in Colchester and bring offenders to justice.”

Inspector Christopher Coyles added: “We’re increasing patrols in hotspots like Castle Park to protect the public and identify those at risk. Illegal drug use must stop.”
