Rotherham Man Jailed for Possessing Sick Child Images
A 41-year-old registered sex offender from Rotherham has been slammed with a 40-month jail sentence for owning indecent images of children.
Stevenson Caught With Hidden Devices
Colin Stevenson, from Parkgate, faced Sheffield Crown Court after pleading guilty to making indecent images of children, breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and dodging his notification duties.
Back in March 2020, Stevenson’s Visor officer visited his home to check compliance. They found indecent images on his laptop, mobile phone, Kindle, and Amazon Fire Stick. He was promptly arrested, and the devices were seized.
More Shocking Discoveries During Second Visit
Less than a year later, in February 2021, officers returned and uncovered more concealed devices Stevenson had deliberately hidden. These gadgets held over 69 indecent images of children.
He was arrested once again.
Harsh Sentencing Reflects Serious Crimes
The court handed Stevenson an extended sentence of six years and four months, including 40 months behind bars plus a three-year extension period to keep him under surveillance.
