Serial Sexual Predator Daniel Randall-Coles Jailed for Four Years
Daniel Randall-Coles, 25, from Millbrook Road West, was locked up for four years today at Southampton Crown Court. He admitted to 15 counts of sexual assault and two counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching.
Police Crack Down After Fearing Spree of Attacks
The sentencing follows a swift police investigation after over a dozen women and girls reported attacks between January 26 and 31 in Southampton’s Lordshill and city centre areas. Victims described a man on a black bike wearing fluorescent clothing who cycled alongside them, touching them indecently over their clothes – grabbing buttocks and groin areas.
Snitch on a Bike: CCTV and Public Tip-Off Bring Predator to Justice
The police launched a complicated probe, using CCTV to identify Randall-Coles. After a public appeal and images released to the media, Randall-Coles handed himself in at Southampton Central Police Station on January 31, less than 24 hours after the images went public.
Disturbingly, one CCTV clip showed Randall-Coles targeting a 12-year-old schoolgirl on her way to school in the city centre.
Detective’s Warning: Predator’s ‘Brazen and Arrogant’ Crimes
“Randall-Coles was brazen and arrogant in his approach to committing these crimes, targeting victims aged just 11 to 57 across Southampton, purely for his own gratification,” said Detective Sergeant Matt Barcraft-Barnes from the Western Investigations Team.
“Thanks to fast action by police, media, and the public, Randall-Coles was in custody within a day. I hope today’s sentencing brings some closure to the many victims affected by his vile behaviour.”
