Shoplifter Caught Red-Handed at St Pancras – Jailed for 12 Weeks
Lawrence Zenith, 24, a serial shoplifter with no fixed address, has been locked up for 12 weeks at Westminster Magistrates’ Court. The British Transport Police (BTP) acted fast – arresting and charging him within two days of his latest crime spree.
Caught in the Act at Popular Station Store
On Saturday, 17 January, plain-clothes BTP officers on patrol at St Pancras International spotted Zenith, matching the description of a suspect linked to a theft at the All Saints clothing store just days before. They detained him immediately. CCTV showed him coolly swiping two jumpers and two leather jackets worth nearly £1,300 on 14 January.
£3,800 Crime Spree Uncovered
Police dug deeper and uncovered three more shoplifting offences by Zenith at All Saints. On 4 December, he stole a jumper. Then on 15 January, he nabbed two women’s leather jackets and a bag. Boldly, he returned two hours later and pinched three men’s leather jackets. In total, Zenith made off with clothes valued at nearly £3,800.
Refused to Talk but Pleaded Guilty
Even after his arrest, Zenith refused to answer police questions. But CCTV and witness statements built a watertight case. The Crown Prosecution Service charged him, and facing the evidence, Zenith pleaded guilty to four counts of theft. Justice was swift – he’s now behind bars for 12 weeks.
