Convicted Sex Offender on the Run, Lincolnshire Police Warn Public
Gary Butcher, a 55-year-old convicted sex offender serving a life sentence for aggravated burglary, has escaped from an open prison and remains at large. Police warn he may try to “charm his way” into people’s homes.
Dangerous Offender with Violent Past
Butcher’s criminal record includes multiple serious sexual offences against women. Lincolnshire Police are urgently searching for him after he was reported missing from North Sea Camp yesterday morning.
What to Look Out For
- Stocky white male, 55 years old
- Brown/grey hair, blue eyes
- Wearing long-sleeved green jacket and dark blue cargo shorts
- Carrying a black rucksack marked ‘No Fear’
- Tattoos: swallow and “Phillip-Trina” on right arm
Police Plea: Stay Alert, Do Not Approach
“Gary Butcher is a dangerous person who has previously targeted and charmed his way into people’s homes to carry out his attacks,” said Detective Inspector Paul Coleman. “We’re working around the clock with other forces to find him. Please be extra vigilant and cautious about who you open your door to. Do not approach him if you see him. Contact police immediately with any information.”
