Shock Assaults on Emergency Workers Shake London
Four Londoners have been charged with attacking emergency workers, set to face Westminster Magistrates’ Court this April. The cases highlight a worrying rise in assaults on those who rush to help.
Assault Charges Hit London Streets
- Lucie Nduhirane, 34, from West India Dock Road, E14, is charged with assaulting an emergency worker. She appears in court on Monday, 19 April.
- Michael Thompson, 39, of Elderfield Road, E5, faces the same charge, appearing Tuesday, 20 April.
- Pippa Roikonen, 30, from Queens Road, SE15, and Tania McCleary, 23, of Palmerston Road, W3, also charged with assaulting emergency workers, will both appear Tuesday, 20 April.
Obstruction Charges Pile Up
- Samuel Roberts, 31, from Bowditch, SE8, charged with highway obstruction and obstructing a constable, set for court on 20 April.
- Estella Moreno, 24, of Reginald Street, Luton, charged with obstructing a constable, will also appear the same day.
Fines and Penalties Add to Crime Crackdown
Authorities have issued a penalty notice for a public order offence. Nine others face fines for breaching Health Protection Regulations.
Recent arrests saw 19 individuals bailed or released under investigation, while 72—mostly for breach of the peace—were released with no further action.
