Social Care Worker Charged Over Sex With Teenage Boy
Charlie Gladman, 29, faces eight serious charges after allegedly having sex with a teenage boy under her care. The Croydon magistrates’ court revealed she is accused of abusing her position of trust while working as a social care assistant on the Isle of Wight.
Isle of Wight Community Shocked by Abuse of Trust Claims
Gladman reportedly engaged in sexual activity with the boy on two separate occasions—June 15, 2023, and June 16, 2025. The second alleged encounter took place at a three-star hotel. At the time, she was both a social care worker and a young person’s ambassador.
Emotional Court Scene as Gladman Denies All Charges
In court, Gladman pleaded “not guilty” to all eight counts. The charges all stem from the same alleged offence. She broke down in tears in the custody dock, revealing her mother had recently died and that she is organising a funeral and post-mortem.
Bail Granted With Strict Conditions Ahead of Crown Court Trial
Gladman was granted conditional bail but must avoid all contact with the alleged victim. She is set to appear at Inner London Crown Court on December 12 for her trial.
