Manhunt launched after Woman in Critical Condition After Severe Stabbing Incident in Bexley

In a shocking incident that occurred in South East London, a woman in her 30s remains in critical condition a week after being brutally stabbed in broad daylight. The horrifying attack unfolded on Tuesday, January 16, in the Bexley area.

The assault transpired shortly after 4 pm, sending shockwaves through the local community. Swiftly responding to the incident, police arrived at the scene on Penhill Road within three minutes. They immediately administered vital first aid to the victim until paramedics arrived to provide further medical attention.

The wounded woman was subsequently rushed to the hospital, where she has remained in a critical condition for nearly seven days. Her life-threatening injuries have left her in a precarious state.

Tony Curant, aged 33 and a resident of Penhill Road, was presented before Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 22, where he faced charges of attempted murder in connection with the shocking assault.

Following the arrest of Curant on Saturday, January 20, subsequent legal proceedings have been initiated. He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, February 5.

Inspector Graham Rickard, part of the policing team for South East London, made a statement at the time of the stabbing, saying, “Officers arrived at the scene within three minutes of the initial report and provided first aid to the victim until paramedics arrived. Sadly, she is very seriously injured and has been taken to the hospital in critical condition. At this very early stage, we believe the suspect is known to her. Officers remain at the scene and in the area carrying out several inquiries.”

The incident has left the local community deeply concerned, with ongoing efforts to uncover the motive behind this shocking act of violence.
