Disqualified Driver Speeds Over 100mph in Daring Police Chase
Police raced to Arnold just after midnight on 28 May after receiving a tip-off about a car being driven by a disqualified motorist.
When officers tried to pull the suspect over, he slammed the accelerator and sped off — hitting speeds of over 100mph. The high-octane chase sent shockwaves through local streets.
Stingers Bring Chase to a Dramatic Halt
Officers deployed stinger spikes on Calverton Road to deflate the car’s tyres and force it to stop. The vehicle was eventually abandoned on Smithy Crescent.
A brief foot pursuit followed, with police dogs quickly sniffing out the suspect and bringing the man to justice within minutes.
Arrest Made for Multiple Offences
- 30-year-old man taken into custody
- Suspected of dangerous driving and failing to stop
- Also charged with driving without insurance and possession of a bladed article
The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.

“This was a great example of teamwork, with colleagues from different departments including our police dogs team all playing a part in locating, detaining and arresting a suspect,” said Sergeant Sue Farren of Nottinghamshire Police.
“Thanks to their skill and professionalism, the incident was resolved swiftly without injury.
