Axe-Wielding Man Charges Up Dartford High Street Mayhem

A man has been charged after a violent disturbance involving an axe rocked Dartford’s High Street on Sunday afternoon.

Armed Suspect Arrested After Assaulting Police

At 1.30pm on November 19, Kent Police rushed to reports of an altercation. Officers swiftly stopped a suspect for a search and found an axe. The 33-year-old, Matthew Howes from Northfleet, allegedly assaulted three officers during his arrest before being taken into custody.

Multiple Charges and Court Date Set

Howes now faces charges of affray, possession of an offensive weapon in public, and three counts of assaulting an emergency worker. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, November 21.
