Masked Thug Charged Over Dartford Car Heists and Attacks
A man has been arrested and charged following a string of violent assaults and vehicle thefts near Dartford earlier this month. Victims were attacked by a gang of masked men who then stole their cars.
Violent Robberies Shake Dartford
The first assault happened on the evening of Wednesday, 4 September 2024. A motorist stopped briefly at Dartford Heath, only to have his car window smashed, be attacked, and then watched his vehicle get stolen. Just days later, on Sunday, 8 September, another victim was attacked by masked criminals on Rochester Way, who also made off with his car.
Police Nab Suspect With Stolen Car and Key
After a thorough investigation, Kent Police arrested 28-year-old Thomas Ripley from Star Lane, Orpington on Friday, 13 September. Officers recovered a stolen car and a car key during the arrest. Ripley now faces charges including two counts of robbery and an attempted burglary from 21 August in Colt Stead, New Ash Green.
Ripley Remanded, Next Hearing Set
Ripley appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court the day after his arrest and was remanded in custody. His next hearing is scheduled for Friday, 11 October at Maidstone Crown Court.
