Local Girls’ Football Team Scores Big Thanks to Police Fund

Cash Boost from Police Property Act Fund

The Pevensey & Westham girls’ football team has landed a welcome financial boost from the Police Property Act Fund (PPAF). This fund is filled with cash from the sale of lost and confiscated property, making it a unique source of support for local causes.

A Family Club Putting the Girls First

Steve Hadfield, the team coach, explained the club’s mission. “Pevensey & Westham is a relatively new football team. We work hard to ensure the girls are at the heart of everything we do.”

He added, “We’re a family club that strives to keep costs down. This money will be a massive help to make sure the team can turn up on match day with a decent kit and let their football do the talking.”

Police Support Puts Shine on Match Day

PCSO Jake Hopgood, from Eastbourne Neighbourhood Policing Team, handed over the cheque in person. “I was delighted to help and see the team sporting their new kit on match day. They looked great and it was brilliant to see them having fun and enjoying their sport,” he said.
