Teen Stabbed in Shocking Knifepoint Robbery in Ryde
A 17-year-old boy was stabbed during a terrifying knifepoint robbery in Ryde’s Swanmore area in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Attack on Swanmore Road
Police were called to Swanmore Road near Weeks Road at 12.54am following reports of a violent robbery. Officers found the teen with injuries to his face—close to his eye—and chest. Although details about how he was stabbed remain unclear, locals claim they heard “hysteric screaming” at the scene.
The victim was with his girlfriend when two men approached a group of four people, threatened them, and demanded their belongings.
Two Armed Men Make Off With Stolen Goods
During the attack, the 17-year-old was assaulted and stabbed. The two suspects then fled on foot, stealing a handbag, bank cards, and other items from the group.
The injured teen was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment. Hampshire Constabulary confirmed the boy’s injuries are minor but serious enough to warrant medical attention.
Police Launch Full Investigation
“We were called at 12.54am on Sunday 13 October to a report of a knifepoint robbery on Swanmore Road, Ryde,” a Hampshire police spokesperson said. “A group of four were threatened by two men who then assaulted a 17-year-old boy before fleeing with stolen items.”
“An investigation is underway and officers will remain in the area today conducting enquiries.”
