On Tuesday 23 April, just after 1pm, checkout workers at Sainsbury’s on Loose Road were threatened by a youth armed with a knife. The suspect demanded money but fled empty-handed when nothing was handed over.
Rapid Police Response Leads to Suspect’s Arrest
Officers quickly combed the area and spotted a teenage boy in Boughton Lane. He was stopped and searched, with a knife recovered from his bag. The 15-year-old Maidstone resident was arrested on the spot.
Legal Action Underway as Authorities Crack Down on Knife Crime
The youngster now faces charges of possessing an offensive weapon in public and attempted robbery. He’s been bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 7 May.
