Teen Stabbed in Shocking Northfleet Dispute Over Faulty Bike
An 18-year-old has been locked up for nearly a decade after a brutal stabbing sparked by an argument over a dodgy motorbike in Northfleet.
Monsur Ali Sentenced to Almost 10 Years
Monsur Ali, 18, was slapped with a hefty nine years and nine months behind bars. He pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent and carrying a knife in public.
His older brother, Dilwar Hussain, 25, also landed trouble. He got a 12-month suspended sentence for affray, meaning he’s on a warning for two years.
The Violent Clash That Rocked Haynes Road
The drama unfolded at 5pm on Sunday, 4 July 2021, when kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police rushed to Haynes Road after a disturbance call. They found a 17-year-old boy stabbed and rushed him to hospital by air ambulance.
About an hour later, the brothers were caught driving a blue Vauxhall Astra on Old Road West, Gravesend — the very car seen fleeing the scene.
Officers noticed Hussain had blood on his face, while Ali had a cut hand. The investigation uncovered that three men had stormed the brothers’ home earlier, banging on the door and demanding money back for a faulty motorbike.
Ali ignored the visitors and later tracked them down with Hussain. It was during this showdown that Ali stabbed the teenager.
Detective Slams Brothers’ Reckless Actions
“This was a shocking incident in broad daylight that alarmed local residents,” said Detective Inspector Ross Gurden of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate. “Instead of reporting the dispute to the police, Ali and Hussain decided to take matters into their own hands. Their reckless behaviour caused serious injury and now Ali faces a lengthy jail term.”
